We are officially starting the hunt for a new web developer

Position Details

This vacancy is suited to an experienced web developer with knowledge of a wide range of modern processes and tools. The candidate will be an all-rounder with strong initiative and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. ‌ ‌Excellent working knowledge of PHP, HTML, JavaScript and CSS are essential, as is extensive experience with WordPress, including plugin and theme development. Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite would be desirable but is not essential.

Essential skills

  • Fluency in PHP, HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Understanding of the principles of responsive design
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Familiarity with Linux administration, including Bash scripting
  • Good working knowledge of WordPress, including plugin and theme development
  • Experience with managing hosting and DNS
  • Ability to manage projects independently and effectively prioritize tasks
  • Working well in teams, with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and research existing solutions
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new approaches, systems and development tools

Desirable skills

  • Good working knowledge of web development tooling, including Sass, TypeScript, Grunt, Gulp, NPM
  • Familiarity with Git version control
  • Digital graphic design skills
  • Good working knowledge of JavaScript libraries and frameworks, e.g. jQuery, Lodash, React, VueJS
  • Experience with MySQL/MariaDB and related tools, e.g. phpMyAdmin
  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop
