We are officially starting the hunt for a new team member. We are a small growing business with big ambitions, and we’re looking forward to realising them with an added developer/designer in our gang!

Position Details

This vacancy is suited to a graduate or former freelancer with good knowledge of a wide range of web development processes and tools. The candidate will be an all-rounder with excellent initiative and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. A strong working knowledge of PHP, HTML, JavaScript and CSS are essential, as is experience with WordPress, including plugin and theme development. The ability to use the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, would be desirable.

Essential skills

  • Fluency in PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Good working knowledge of WordPress, including plugin and theme development
  • Strong skills in website administration, including content and data population, managing web and email hosting packages, configuring DNS
  • Reasonable understanding of basic web and network concepts
  • Ability to manage projects and effectively prioritize tasks

Desirable skills

  • Conversant in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop
  • Digital graphic design skills, including UI design
  • Good working knowledge of JavaScript libraries and frameworks, e.g. jQuery, Lodash, React
  • Familiarity with relational database systems including MySQL and related tools, e.g. phpMyAdmin
  • Good working knowledge of modern web development tools and preprocessors, e.g. Sass, TypeScript, Grunt/Gulp
  • Familiarity with version control systems, e.g. Git

Soft skills

  • Effective client management and liaison

  • Working well in teams, with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and research existing solutions
