Last week saw Illicit Web Design launch paulreeve.com, the website of producer and mix engineer Paul Reeve. We’re very excited to have worked with Paul as he is one of the UK’s most highly regarded producers, having worked with Muse, Supergrass, Beta Band, Razorlight and many more. In fact Paul was hard at work just last week recording vocals for Muse’s new album!
Paul was looking for a site that offered a Soviet flavour with a novel homepage, so we came up with an introduction in the style of Russian constructivist artist Lissitzky. This navigates through to the rest of the pages which sport a clean retro look with bold space race-themed colours. Paul also wanted to showcase examples of his production work, so we coded him a bespoke rotating discography with a slick, reflective style. The whole site makes use of our hand-coded content management system, so Paul is able to easily upload images and audio files and edit any text on the page.
Finally, the website needed to be smart phone friendly, so we created some mobile-specific webpages. This means that if you are using a smart phone or a tablet, your device will resize a page to fit the screen size, making it easy to read and navigate. It’s certainly been a busy week but the work has been well worth it.
