The Illicit Story
Set up in 2010 in Exeter, Devon, with our roots going back to the music business, Studio Illicit was created to offer something different – fearless yet honest creative work, modern digital strategy, and websites designed with real purpose. Over the years, we’ve helped more than 250 clients build their business, believing that strong long-term partnerships create the best results.

From the Stage
Our founders began the journey on the punk scene, designing record sleeves, posters and websites while touring together in a band. It was a hands-on way of learning to create work that stood out, solve problems with limited resources and build things with purpose rather than following the crowd.

Building Studio Illicit
In 2010, we brought that same independent mindset into Studio Illicit and built a web agency in the heart of Exeter. From day one, we focused on creating thoughtful websites, strong branding and digital experiences that helped businesses, without losing the creativity and honesty that shaped where we came from.
